About Rockslides Trail
This unofficial path follows a remnant section of the historic alignment of Big Oak Flat Road into Yosemite Valley. Rock slides and vegetation have overtaken it in several places making the trail difficult to find and traverse in some sections.
⚠ Note from contributors: Trail is no longer evident in places and requires scrambling and rockhopping over boulders and talus to continue.
What “Hard” Means
Steep, technical, or long. Requires good fitness and experience.
Difficulty is derived from OpenStreetMap’s Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) hiking scale, trail visibility, surface, distance, and elevation gain. Always verify current conditions before heading out.
