About Wasatch Mountain State Park

Launch your family adventure in Wasatch Mountain State Park, minutes from Park City and just an hour’s drive from the SLC International Airport. Explore the trails by foot, bike, horse or ATV, and in the fall see what wows the park naturalist every year as the leaves turn orange, magenta and purple. You're likely to catch glimpses of wild turkeys, moose and elk as they descend to lower elevations with winter approaching. A variety of kid-friendly trails start near the visitor center, including some that are stroller-compatible. Extend your stay to camp in the Pine Creek Campground and to reserve a tee time at one of the four popular 18-hole golf courses. Park facilities include 122 camping/picnicking areas, modern restrooms, hot showers and utility hookups, one group-use pavilion, and four overnight group areas. Soldier Hollow was the Nordic skiing venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. In addition to the beautifully manicured cross-country ski trails, it now has the longest tubing lanes in the country. Soldier Hollow has more than 19 miles of trails to bike or hike in the summer. Each Labor Day Weekend competitors and their sheepdogs (border collies) come from around to world to participate in the Sheepdog Championship. Midway's Swiss Days, which celebrates the Heber Valley's heritage, also falls on Labor Day Weekend and is one of Utah's largest festivals. Make a reservation on the Utah State Parks reservation site
