About Lake Mountains

Lake Mountains is a small mountain range with canyons, rocky outcrops and pinyon-junipers that overlooks Utah Lake with views of the Wasatch Mountains spanning for miles. Located only thirty minutes from Saratoga Springs, UT, this accessible area offers opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, petroglyph viewing, OHV riding, and site seeing. The area includes the Lake Mountains Target Shooting Closure, 3.5 thousand acres of BLM and SITLA lands closed to target shooting for public safety and protection of cultural resources. Outside of this shooting closure, the rest of the Lake Mountains is open to target shooting and a public shooting range, developed by Utah County, is located on Soldier Pass Road.

How to Get There

From Salt Lake City:Take I-15 South to Exit 282 for US 89 toward Lehi. Turn right onto UT-85/W 2100 N for 2.6 miles then use the left two lanes to turn slightly left onto UT-85. Continue onto UT-68 South for about 15.8 miles, the first access route will be on the right.
