About Shotgun Creek OHV Staging Area

Looking for that motorized trail experience to enjoy with family and friends? The Shotgun OHV System offers a mix of challenges, scenic views, technical features, and amenities to satisfy the OHV enthusiast. Thirty miles of forest trails wind throughout 8,320 acres of low-elevation forest uniquely situated within the mid-Willamette Valley. Following a good ride, visitors can unwind and warm themselves at 2 OHV facilities, Crooked Creek Staging Site and Cascade View OHV Complex. Novice riders can further hone their skills at the dedicated training site and beginners trail loop that are included within the Cascade View OHV Complex. Know Before You Go: The Shotgun OHV Staging Area is open YEAR ROUND unless the area is under High or Extreme wildfire danger. Summer wildfire danger may result in temporary trail closure. High and Extreme wildfire danger closes the trail system until it is back down to Moderate or Low fire danger. Visit Oregon Department of Forestry’s Public Fire Restrictions page for more information. All Class I and II riders must carry on their vehicle a fire extinguisher (8 oz. or larger) during fire season. All Class II and IV operators must carry a fire extinguisher (2 pound or larger) year round. A valid Oregon State ATV permit is required for all OHVs. Point of Interest: Maps of the trail system are located at the 2 staging facilities and the Northwest Oregon BLM Office. The maps also depict intermingled private lands. While riding, stay on signed trails and be respectful of neighboring private lands.
