About HEYBURN PARK
Overview Heyburn Park features 46 campsites, a 2 lane boat ramp, courtesy dock, playground, 2 restroom/shower facilities, 2 group shelters, and a large swim beach with picnic tables. Recreation Boating, water skiing and fishing are all popular activities on Heyburn Lake. Common catches include crappie, bass and catfish. During hunting season, project lands provide opportunities for waterfowl and whitetail deer. Heyburn Public Hunting Area covers more than 6,000 acres of project lands and provides hunting opportunities for squirrel, rabbit, quail, waterfowl and wild turkey. Facilities The campground has 46 campsites with water and electric hookups, some of which have 50 amp service. Two group shelters, one with 50 amp camping sites and one day-use shelter by the swim beach, are available. Natural Features Heyburn lies in a picturesque setting of grasslands and gently sloping, sandstone hills covered with oak trees and scattered with hickory, ash, elm and cottonwood. In the spring, flowering wild plum and redbud trees add color to the soft, green landscape. Nearby Attractions Visitors can explore the various parks of Heyburn Lake including Sunset Bay, Overlook and Sheppard Point. Keystone Lake lies about 25 miles to the north and Tulsa is less than 30 miles northeast. How to Get There
Coming from OKC, continue east on I-44 on Turner Turnpike. There are 2 exits that may be taken.Option 1: Exit 196, exiting towards Bristow/Keystone Lake. From Bristow, go north towards HWY 48 and continue straight on OK-66 past the PDQ gas station for roughly 5 miles. Turn left onto S 273rd W Ave and take a slight right following the asphalt road to continue on S 273rd W Ave. Continue onto S 273rd W Ave road for about 3 miles and turn left onto E0740 Rd/Lake Heyburn Rd. Heyburn Park is 0.5 on the right. Option 2: Exit 203, exiting towards Kellyville. Take Exit 203 and turn right onto OK-66 crossing over the turnpike bridge. Turn right onto S 273rd W Ave and take a slight right following the asphalt road to continue on S 273rd W Ave. Continue onto S 273rd W Ave road for about 3 miles and turn left onto E0740 Rd/Lake Heyburn Rd. Heyburn Park is 0.5 on the right. Guests may also follow OK-66 to go through Kellyville for gas.Coming from Tulsa, continue west on I-44 on Turner Turnpike. There are 2 exits that may be taken.Option 1: Exit 211, exiting towards Kellyville/Sapulpa. Turn left onto OK-33 E followed by a right at the stoplight onto OK-66 W. This will take you through Kellyville. Turn right onto E0740 Rd between the Dollar General store and Simple Simon's Pizza. Follow E0740 Rd for 5.5 miles and turn right onto S 257th W Ave. Take a slight left onto Heyburn Lake Rd and follow this road for 2 miles passing the dam and the Corps Office.
