In 1971, one of the largest Northern Pike ever recorded (42-7/8?) was reeled in from the waters below Mahoning Dam. Mahoning is also known for its abundant Turkey and Ruffed Grouse populations.
Mahoning Creek Lake is only 12 miles southeast of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and 7 miles northwest of Dayton, Pennsylvania. Follow the brown Mahoning Lake directional signs to the project.
