Overview This picnic area in a shady grove of cottonwoods, is located near the eastern end of the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway (a.k.a. Mud Flat Road). This is the only developed recreation spot in this region and includes tables, grills, fire grates, one vault toilet, shaded areas, and a short trail.

From Grand View, take Hwy 78 East 2.1 miles. Where Hwy 78 veers left/east, go straight/south onto Mud Flat Road. You are now traveling on a section of the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway. Continue on Mud Flat Road for about 18 miles to reach the site.
