Overview Hayfork Group Campground is located 49 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, along scenic Highway 21. Historic Idaho City is just 12 miles south of the campground. Visitors enjoy fishing in Mores Creek and exploring local trails. Recreation Mores Creek runs between the highway and the campground, offering whitefish and rainbow trout fishing. Numerous trails are in the area, providing ample opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle riding. In the winter, the area becomes a playground for back country skiers and snowmobiles.Facilities This group campground provides four drive-in single campsites, two walk-in single campsites, and one large tent-only group campsite. It can accommodate up to 50 people and is a great location for family reunions or small weddings. The site is equipped with multiple tables, a grill and a campfire circle with benches. There is also a large open general parking area for excess vehicles.Vault toilets, a handpump for drinking water and dumpster are provided. Parking spurs are paved. Due to the campground's proximity to the highway, some noise from passing traffic is to be expected. Campsites: Site 1: Tent only, general parking lot Site 2: Tent only, general parking lot Site 3: RV, Trailer, Tent Use; Driveway L= 25', W= 20' Site 4: RV, Trailer, Tent Use; Driveway L= 33', W= 25' Site 5: RV, Trailer, Tent Use; Driveway L= 43', W= 31' Site 6 (Group Site) : Tent only, general parking lot Site 7: Tent only, Driveway L= 44', W= 19' Natural Features The campground is situated at the foot of a Ponderosa Pine-forested hillside along Highway 21, at an elevation of 5,100 feet. The campsite, however, is in an open area with limited shade. Wildlife and summer wildflowers are abundant in the surrounding area. Hayfork Creek flows through the campground.
