About Salt Creek #1878

The Salt Creek trail begins at County Road 8A and ends at Forest Road #435. The trail begins on an old road which goes through private land so be sure to stay on the trail. The trail follows a combination of old roads and singletrack through a mixture of spruce, fir, aspen, and brush along Salt Creek to Dubach Meadows near the top where views of the Sawatch Range are terrific.* There is a printable Recreation Quicksheet for this trail which is complete with directions, a map, details, and other information about this trail. How to Get There

From I-70 exit 147 for Eagle, turn south on Eby Creek Rd to the Route 6 roundabout.At roundabout, turn right (west) on Route 6/Grand Ave and travel 0.8 miles to next roundabout. At this roundabout, take the third right onto Sylvan Lake Road.Continue 1.6 miles to Brush Creek Road, and take a right on Brush Creek Road.Travel south on Brush Creek Rd. for about 5 miles to Bruce Creek Rd and turn left. Take an immediate left following the sign to Salt Creek.Follow this dirt road for 4.3 miles until you see the sign before the cattle guard marked “Public Access through Private Land - Stay On Trail”.Park here and walk 0.2 miles until you see the trail marker on the right leading into a small open area with Salt Creek on the right.
