About Hunkidori Mine #276

This trail passes into thick spruce and fir trees. You will be entering a stand of Red Barked spruce which is a species of Englemann spruce that is over 200 years old. After approximately 2 miles, the trail will bear to the left and loop back to the southwest. The trail will become steeper the closer you get to the mine. How to Get There

From I-70 take Exit 205, Silverthorne/Dillon, and travel east on HWY 6 toward Keystone. Just past Keystone, turn right onto Montezuma Road (County Road #5). Follow Montezuma Road for 7 miles to the town of Montezuma. Turn right onto Saints John Road and follow to the junction with Hunkidori Mine Road.
